Science fiction and wanderlust -- these are the themes epicureaders members decided to be inspired by this year when selecting books.
Wanderlust is a word derived from German, roughly translating as "love of travel" in English. It is commonly defined as a strong desire to travel, or having an itch to get out and see the world. Lena is particularly fond of journeys on foot and the "restless" authors Bruce Chatwin, Rebecca Solnit, John Muir, and Werner Herzog. Epicureaders read a seminal work in this category for their March 2002 meeting, 'The Songlines" by Bruce Chatwin.
While Epicureaders has talked about reading a science fiction novel, it hasn't yet happened -- maybe this year!
